What is the function of SAP's RSP? We explain everything below
The RSP or Remote Support Platform is the remote support platform that, as its name suggests, serves for the support services of SAP Business One (manufacturer). It is a free tool for those customers of SAP who have active maintenance.
Through this tool, it is possible to download information relevant to the proper maintenance of the system, including preventive and corrective tasks, as well as send the results to SAP.
RSP can proactively monitor the status and integrity of customer databases and send the results to SAP and partner support, who can then notify the customer's administrator about known issues. RSP also allows for automatic database correction by executing corrective tasks.
Currently, it is a mandatory tool to be able to receive adequate support service from the manufacturer, therefore, it is very important to have it installed and properly managed.
The latest version of RSP is 3.2 PL 16
Benefits of SAP RSP
Preventive and corrective support
It not only facilitates problem resolution when they arise, but also allows you to perform preventive tasks that help avoid failures in SAP Business One. By detecting potential risks and generating early alerts, administrators can take corrective actions before they impact system operation. This ensures greater stability and continuity in operations.
Time savings in technical support
RSP allows you to automate several processes, which reduces the time that support teams need to identify and solve problems. Always remember to back up all information to avoid any issues with the content and have the corresponding backups.
Requirements for installing RSP
SAP recommends that partners install and activate the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One for each customer's production system and run the diagnostic check (known as the System Status Report) monthly.
The resulting system status report is automatically sent to customized email addresses.

Is it necessary to install RSP on the database server?
You can run the RSP installer on a machine different from the database server; but you must ensure that you enable the Microsoft SQL TCP/IP protocol and remote access, so that RSP can connect to the SAP Business One server.
