SAP MM is included in the SAP S\/4HANA ERP system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span style=\"color: #544492;\"><strong>Application areas of the SAP MM module<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The SAP MM module is one of the standard modules of the SAP infrastructure and, therefore, can be used by any company that already uses an SAP ERP system, obviously after evaluation by an SAP consultant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">SAP MM forms the basis and prerequisite for all other SAP logistics applications and includes a series of submodules with numerous functions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">It guarantees a high level of process reliability through the consistent use of the possibilities of SAP MM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">SAP MM includes the mapping of materials such as office supplies and business travel. For example, sales orders can be assigned directly to a customer account and SAP authorizations can be configured to reduce the effort of requesting low-value orders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>SAP MM \u2013 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Inventory Management and Physical Inventory (MM-IM) is primarily used for the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\n<li>Planning, recording, and checking the movement of goods within the company<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative and value-based management of material inventories<\/li>\n<li>System support in carrying out the inventory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">When recording the movement of goods, material stocks are available in the system in real time. This allows for the evaluation and planning of goods flows and availability. At the same time, transparency is ensured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The inventory value of the managed materials is automatically updated in the corresponding accounts in financial accounting. Compared to manual inventory management or multi-island solutions for inventory management, this function saves a lot of resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span style=\"color: #544492;\"><strong>Other submodules<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">In addition to the subcomponents SAP MM-PUR and SAP MM-IM, there are a number of other submodules which are briefly explained below:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\n<li><strong>SAP MM-INV <\/strong>(invoice): This module processes activities of the invoicing process such as receiving supplier invoices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SAP MM-MD <\/strong>(material master): This module deals with the material master, vendor master, and purchasing master and contains, for example, information about all the materials that a company acquires, manufactures, stores, and sells.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SAP MM-SRV<\/strong> (service): This component supports the entire material management cycle in tendering, awarding, and acceptance to invoice verification for services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SAP MM-IV<\/strong> (Logistics Invoice Verification): This module is used at the end of the logistics supply chain for incoming invoice verification.
